Night #2 without a soother

My friend Laura told me it would take 3 nights to get over this soother issue. She knows what she's talking about since she has 3 kids. Anyway, she warned me that it would be hell the first night but it would get better each night and by the 4th night, Rachel wouldn't even remember the soother.

Rachel went to bed about 20 minutes ago and we haven't heard a peep out of her. Ron said she didn't even look for her soother or ask for it. Mind you, she didn't have an afternoon nap so she's probably exhausted but still...this is definitely progress. And honestly, I think this just proves that she didn't "need" her soother anymore.

Her morning nap wasn't a problem when it came time to deal with the soother issue. She pointed to her mouth and we explained again that she's a big girl and she didn't need it. She seemed ok with that and had a good nap. At Church tonight Natalie started crying so Rachel said 'uh oh', jumped off my lap and gave Natalie the soother. Maybe she has put two and two together and figures that since she doesn't cry, she doesn't need the soother like Natalie does.

Rachel is a great kid. We are blessed!
