Big girl - no more soother

Well, tonight was the 1st night of no soother at bed time. Ron put Rachel to bed and at 8:21 she was crying, crying, crying. Soooo upset but not over the top like she was the first time we tried it. I think it helped that all week we've been telling her she's a big girl and doesn't need her soother like Natalie does. Rachel was still crying so at 8:45 I went up to see what was going on. She was laying down and hadn't thrown anything 'overboard'. As soon as she saw me, she stood up and started pointing to her mouth. I explained again that she was a big girl and big girls don't need a soother. Then I distracted her since her one doll was naked. I grabbed the doll and the outfit and told Rachel I would dress her doll again for her - she was all smiles. I goofed around with the doll for a couple of minutes and told Rachel that the doll was very tired. Rachel laid down and cuddled with the doll. I covered Rach up again and rubbed her head for a few minutes and then told her that I was going to go back downstairs and I would see her in the morning. Done. End of story.

We'll see what tomorrow is like. Nap time should be interesting :)
