Shopping!

Ron and I took Friday off work and decided we would go to Great Lakes Crossing in Michigan and do a little shopping. Honestly, we were going to look for maternity clothes for me and new jeans for Ron. What did we come home with?

Lots of bibs, onesies, sleepers, a baby book, soother that folds automatically if it falls on the floor, cool spoons that change colour if they are too hot and some toys for Lil Bean to play with!
This is my favourite - the bathrobe with slippers! The best part - it was only $10!

The nursery will be complete with the mobile we got - it even has the little bee that we are going to paint in the nursery!

Of course buying all this stuff is getting me motivated to clean out the spare room - that will soon be the nursery. I think I may start that now...

Busy baby

Ron FINALLY felt the baby move...for sure on Friday night! Lil' Bean was all over the place - could have something to do with all the chocolate eggs and ju-jubes I was eating! :) Anyway, I'm glad he finally felt it and he knew he did. He has felt it before but he wasn't sure if he was feeling it or not - don't ask! ha ha

It's hard to believe that there are only 18 weeks left to go! We're going to register for gifts within the next couple of weeks (it's an easy thing to take off my list of things to do) and then we will start cleaning out the room that will be the nursery. I would like to have it painted by the middle of June (before the heat kicks in and before the belly gets too much bigger).

Other than that, not much is going on. I'm just looking forward to working 4 days a week...which starts soon :)

Dr. Appointment today

Well, I've gained some weight - just 4lbs but that's in 3 weeks. I asked my doctor if that's something I should be concerned with and he said no, especially considering I lost 21lbs in the first 4 months. Apparently now I should be gaining between 0.5lb and 1lb per week. We'll see how that goes :)

The ultrasound results were great - nothing wrong with the baby. YAY! Everything is on track and actually 2 days ahead of where I think I'm supposed to be. I'm not changing my due date again - after all, that's just an 'estimate' anyway. Lil' Bean is going to enter this world when he/she feels like it.

Then he tried to find the heartbeat. OY! It felt like an eternity because Lil' Bean would not cooperate. He could hear the baby moving around in there - just couldn't get the heartbeat. He found mine quite easily although it could be mistaken for a fetal heartbeat because it was racing at the time. He wouldn't give up though and soon after, he found it...160bpm. That's really fast - must be because the baby was moving around.

Speaking of moving around - this little one has been going crazy lately. Last night as I was trying to get to sleep, Lil' Bean wouldn't stop moving if I was on my left side. If I moved to my right side, he/she would stop. I'd move back to my left side - and the kid would go crazy! Today at work I noticed a lot more movement as well. Hopefully soon Ron will be able to feel the little one moving around :)

I don't have to go back for another 4 weeks since everything is on track so that's nice to hear. Not that I minded going every 2-3 weeks because I like hearing the heartbeat but 4 weeks will FLY by I'm sure!

That's all for now...time to go rest so I can feel the Lil' Bean moving around again

This Little Piggy...

...went for a ride in the new carseat/stroller!

Little Piggy really likes it so hopefully our Lil' Bean will, too :)

We bought our 'travel system' today

Toys R Us had the stroller that we both really liked on sale this week so first thing this morning I headed over there. The store had only been open for 15 minutes by the time I got there but holy smokes was it ever busy!

Thankfully they had the stroller in stock so Ron and I put it together this afternoon. It went better than I expected but then again, there isn't a lot to putting a stroller and carseat together! I'm sure the crib will be another story.

Here are some pictures of our adventure today...

Ron is actually reading the instruction manual.

He's probably thinking at this point that cutting/trimming trees is a lot easier!

Cool wheels!

Ron thought he would try it out before he put the wheels on it :)

Now we just need to find my Cabbage Patch Doll so we can practice using the seatbelts - they are quite complicated! ha ha

Ultrasound #2 today

I love ultrasounds - just can't get enough of them. I wish I was rich and could afford my own machine! The ultrasound went well today - little Bean was moving around like crazy (shhh...I had Kool-Aid again). It's so amazing how much he/she looks like a baby now. I look at the u/s pic from 12 weeks and I kind of giggle because we were so excited about that one. Well now....we're on Cloud 9 :)

In the picture above, You can see Little Bean's hand just as he/she is about to suck his/her thumb. The baby's head is on the left and then in the belly area you can see the ribs - they are those little white lines.

In the picture above, baby's head is to the right and his/her little arm is flat down beside the body - like a soldier standing at attention or something. You can see the little nose and lips and ear (I know - it's hard to see but when you see it 'live' it makes it easier to understand the pictures) and then you can see the belly. Baby is too big now to fit all in one shot now. And the placenta is on top of the baby. The black between the baby and the placenta is the amniotic fluid.

The next time I go to the doctor (April 10th), I will get the results from this ultrasound. Hopefully everything is ok with Little Bean! :)

Off to Chapters now to buy a Name book - after all, there are only 143 days to go until the due date. Who's counting? lol
