TGIF

We're gearing up for another busy weekend...and really I should be packing but instead I'm blogging. :) I figured once the girls wake up then I can go back to packing. I might as well let them both have a good sleep (oh yes, they both sleep at the same time everyday - I know I'm spoiled!).

Yummy toes!!! Rachel used to play with her toes but I don't really remember her chomping on them like Natalie does.

Kissy kissy

Check out the drool (and cleavage ha ha)

These are the outfits my parent bought the girls when they were shopping in the States a couple of weeks ago.

Have a great weekend and a wonderful week as well!

Nat the hitch hiker

We took a trip down memory lane today and put Natalie in the carrier my parents used to put me in. It will work perfectly for our trip to the cottage coming up next week (we're leaving Friday right after work and will be gone until Tuesday). At this cottage there are TONS of steps to go down to get to the beach and they are pretty steep as well. So needless to say the steps are a bit of a challenge on their own, let alone when you're carrying a 20lb baby.

I think it's cute that Natalie has her thumb out as if she's hitch hiking (funny how the brand name of that carrier is Hitch Hiker)

Natalie went for her 6 month check up at the doctor's yesterday and she did very well with the needles. It's good to have chubby legs :) She weighs 19lbs 10oz and is 26.5 inches in length. She's only put on a couple of pounds since her 4 month check up but she's definitely getting longer. I'm counting down the days until she's out of the infant car seat because carrying her in that is quite the workout! If we weren't going on vacation next week we'd probably install the new car seat but we figured it would be easier to lug her around in the infant one for the week. Hopefully the weather cooperates because we're planning on hanging out at the cottage for a few days, then we'll come home on Tuesday because I have a bridal shower to go to. On Wednesday we're planning on going to the Toronto Zoo and then head to Niagara Falls after that. We'll check out the Butterfly conservatory on Thursday and then we'll rest on Friday...which means laundry & cleaning probably ha ha

Hope you're all having a great week!

Sleeping beauties

Every night before Ron & I go to bed we check on the girls. Last night I couldn't resist taking pictures of them.

I love how her legs are crossed. Quite a little lady!

Then there's Rachel...sleeping with her shoes on. When Ron put her to bed she wanted her shoes in bed with her (she wasn't wearing them at the time). She also wanted one of Natalie's toys and of course, her water. We were quite impressed that she managed to put her shoes on the right feet and in the dark. She must have been having a bad dream or something when we were in there because her face is all distorted and she mumbled something as well. And yes, those would be winter pj's - she loves the reindeer because Grandma told her one time that it was Mommy & Rachel on the front. Rachel has two VERY favourite sets of pj's - her apples and then her pigs so when they are dirty, it's hard to convince her to wear something else. Grandma got creative the one night telling her how special the reindeer were so they're still around...in July!

6 months old today

Happy 1/2 birthday, Natalie! I can't believe 6 months ago today you were a newborn!

Beating the heat

What do you do when it's hot outside and you're tired of sitting in the air conditioning?? You go swimming, of course!!!!

What a brave little girl we have!

Floating around and loving it (with Grandad & Grandma)

Showing Grandma that she still remembers how to swim.

Rachel was being silly and decided this was a fun way to get back in the pool.

Crazy kid!

After swimming and some dinner, it was time to take the babies for a walk. Grandma pushed Natalie and Rachel used my old doll stroller to push her baby (who happened to be a stuffed aligator because Mommy forgot her baby at home).

I LOVE the look on her face - so proud and yet she manages a silly smile.

Funny faces early in the morning when Natalie woke up.

Feeding Bubbles (the goldfish that lives at Grandma & Grandad's)

Cottage pictures

Rachel was getting ready to leave for the cottage very early in the morning. I made the mistake of telling her we were going to the cottage so she ran to get her shoes - I guess I forgot that kids don't have any concept of time :)

Naps are always a good thing!

Hammock time!!

Ron caught his first fish! A large mouth bass (we put it back in the water)

Rachel had to get in on the action and touch the fish.

Hanging out on the dock.

Natalie slept a LOT at the cottage! Guess she was very relaxed!

Uncle Kevin & Rachel checking on Aunt Gail in the cottage.

Mr. Multi-tasker. Talking & feeding Natalie while swinging on the hammock.

Rachel thought she should read the paper before we headed for home.

Cottage Weekend

We had a fantastic time at the cottage even though it was a 4 hour drive (one way). We left London at 6pm and got to the cottage around 10. We missed the Toronto traffic - probably because we took the 407 instead of the 401 but it will be worth every penny when we get the bill! Natalie slept the whole way & Rachel was awake. I thought for sure Rachel would sleep a little but nope, she kept us entertained!

I have some pictures to post (of course) but Blogger is not cooperating this morning so I'll have to post them another time. Guess that means I can have a nap now (both girls are napping right now)...WOO HOO!!!

Heading out for the weekend...

...and I can't wait!!! We are going to my Aunt & Uncle's cottage as soon as Ron gets home from work today. Everything is packed up and ready to go so all we need is Ron...and 5:30 can't come soon enough. I guess the good thing about leaving that late is that we'll HOPEFULLY miss most of the crappy Toronto traffic. We probably won't get to the cottage until 10:30 or 11 tonight but that's ok - it's still better than driving tomorrow morning and wasting half of our day in the car. Thankfully my parents are able to take a lot of our stuff because the Escape can hold a lot but not everything required for 2 kids under 2 :) My parents are taking Ron's truck because they're towing the sailboat as well so the truck can hold a lot of the bigger stuff (2 playpens, 2 strollers, food for the girls and beer! lol). That just leaves us with our clothes, a highchair and the bouncy chair so I think we can handle that.

I really can't believe it's Friday already and that Natalie will be 6 months old next week. That means I have to go back to work in 6 months...wow!!!

I got a kick @$$ deal on this day bed for Rachel. She seems to approve :)

Daddy & Rachel - so sweet
I had to post this picture because Rachel's hair makes me laugh

She's getting very good at putting clothes on herself now.
Natalie has been really 'chomping down' lately and I finally caught it with the camera.

Pinching cheeks

My new favourite picture of the girls
Look at those eyes - she's gonna be a heartbreaker!

Yup - training her early. She loves to dust so why not?

Me & Rachel at Lora's house (our road trip to St. Catharine's on Wednesday)

Playing in Ashley & Owen's playroom.

Cuddle time
Eating her first Farley's biscuit.
Rubbing the kitty's belly - I'm sure it didn't feel so good since it's supposed to be to rub your shoes/boots on.

Ron & I were laughing so hard at Rachel last night - what an outfit - nice hat & shoes, Rach! (you can definitely tell she put them on herself)

Weekly cow picture taken this morning
I wish I looked this cute in the morning!

She just needs to figure out how to put the velcro tab through
She's just too cute, isn't she? :)
Have a fantastic weekend!!!
