Homemade by Grandad

Look how lucky Lil' Bean is...Grandad made him/her a table for the nursery. We're going to put the light on the table along with an alarm clock/phone. There is even a drawer to put stuff in, too! Isn't it beautiful?

Had a visit with the doctor tonight (Dr. Dieter - our family doctor). Lil Bean's heartbeat was 144 and everything looks great. I'm measuring 33cm and I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow so that's pretty good. Everyone thinks I look small for 8 months but I'm right where I should be. Dieter said he's very happy with my blood pressure (it was actually normal today after the first try) and with my weight gain. I am still not up to my pre-pregnancy weight so he said that's great. I'm sure I'll put more on over the next 2 months since that's when Lil Bean will be putting weight on but that's ok - I'm hoping since I haven't put a lot of weight on, it will come off easily. Only time will tell I guess.

We also went for our hospital tour tonight. If reality hadn't hit already, it sure did as of tonight after the tour. It was very informative and interesting. The nurse talked for about an hour about all of the things to expect when labour starts and when the baby is born, etc. Then we went on a tour of the Birthing Centre and the Mother/Baby ward. They even have bracelets they put on the babies so no one can steal them. If you go beyond a certain point in the hospital the alarms will go off, the elevators will stop and basically all hell will break loose. Welcome to the big city I guess! ha ha All in all it was an interesting night and worth the $10 we had to pay.

Time to catch some zzzzz's
