Garage Sales rock!!!

Lisa B told us about a garage/street sale going on so we thought we'd check it out on Saturday morning. We had a late night on Friday (we worked the TiCats game and didn't get home until 2am) so we got to the garage sale around 9am. LOTS on people!

Anyway, we bought a Peg Perego stroller for $25. They were asking $30 but they didn't have any change so the little boy told us he would take whatever we had. The little boy was hilarious - quite the little salesman. He told us the stroller was in 'mint condition' and then he showed us how it worked. I told Ron he should try folding it up and down just to make sure it was something that we could handle. Well, after a couple of attempts, the little boy said 'I'm not going to do everything for you'. I couldn't help but laugh; he was too cute! What a deal on that stroller though because they retail around $400-500 in the stores. We decided it would be a great thing to leave at my parents place so that we don't have to lug ours over there all of the time. Side note - Dad has already powerwashed it :) Sorry - no picture yet because it's at my parents place.

Moving down the street, we found the house where Lisa's friend lives. She had a bunch of baby things there and we didn't know where to start looking. We bought a Diaper Genie and winter sled from her for $5. That's right - FIVE dollars. She gave us a deal because we're friends with Lisa. Diaper Genie's retail for $43 at Toys R Us and I have no idea how much a sled would cost but I do know that we got a GREAT deal on the stuff from her. She also had a carseat which we thought about buying but they have expiry dates and judging by the age of her kids, the carseat would have been close to expiring.

At any rate, here is a picture of the sled we bought:

Isn't it cute? We are both so excited to use it this winter!

We decided to go to Toys R Us to get a package of the Diaper Genie refills so we would be all set with it. It actually came with some but they are the Stage 2 ones (when the baby is on solid foods) so we'll save those for a few more months.

Of course we got looking at stuff in there and it was so hard not to buy anything...

The little slippers are monkeys and there is a matching soother holder. When you shake the slippers, they rattle. We can't wait to see Lil Bean wear them. Then we bought a sunflower for the wall in the nursery, a bib with a 'catch all cup', a wipes container for the diaper bag and some disposable dirty diaper bags as well (for the diaper bag). What started out as a $6.99 trip to TRU, ended up being $150 (including the Lego). Oh well, as Ron stated, we have been selfish the past two weekends with spending money on flowers, cedars & stones for the garden so Lil Bean deserves it. It's funny to hear that coming from his mouth :)
