We're back...and we're tired...

Oh my goodness! What a busy weekend we had. I feel bad for Ron because he has to work today. I'm sure he's exhausted because we have been on the go since Thursday.

We left for Toronto around 5:30pm on Thursday. Probably a silly time to leave but let's be honest - is there EVER a good time to travel to Toronto? Not so much! It was perfect timing for us since Natalie just had her dinner...that means we were good to go for about 3 hours. According to our GPS, Tim & Rybeca only live about an hour and 50 minutes away from us but let's add in the traffic in Woodstock, Kitchener and then Missisauga and we're pushing closer to 3 hours. We arrived shortly after 8pm, which was awesome timing and that even included a stop at McDonald's for some french fries. Rybeca and Tim went crazy making food for us again so we didn't want to spoil our appetite but we needed a little snack. When we arrived at their place we had ribs and burgers (the ribs were amazing - good job, Tim!!) while the kids played. Well, Aidan & Rachel played...Natalie screamed. She slept the whole way so when she woke up, she was in different surroundings so she was a little spooked. She got over it rather quickly though so that was a relief. Rachel & Aidan play soooo well together. I just love watching them. Rachel would get on one of Aidan's ride on cars and Aidan pushed her around on it. I wish I would have captured a picture of that because it was really cute.

Friday morning we headed to Sick Kids for our appointment. Everything went well and there has been no change so that's good news. The even better news is that one of the doctors from there is moving to London so that means no more trips to Toronto for that purpose. In a way I'm sad because we have so much fun when we stay with Tim & Ry but of course it will be nice to have a doctor in the same city as us. He's moving here in mid-July so we'll probably hook up with him in August sometime.

After our appointment we headed back to Tim & Ry's and the kids had a nap and then they played again. Rybeca brought out this pop up house they have with some balls in it and Rachel thought that was one of the coolest things ever! She loved the balls so much she decided to put them up her shirt (ok obviously with Mommy's help ha ha)

When Daddy got home from a visit with his former supervisor, he played in the house with Rachel. I'm not sure who had more fun :)

What was Natalie doing this whole time? What she always does...sleep!

Rachel thought it was just as much fun to play on the outside of the house. She was playing a little game with Rybeca here. Aidan was having fun watching Rachel play with his Mommy.

Daddy & Rachel needed a little rest after playing all afternoon so they hung out on the couch and watched a little bit of tv on Tim's AWESOME television! Even Natalie liked it. Who knew a 3 month old would love to watch tv? She watched 90% of the movie Transformers when we watched it on Friday night after the other kids went to bed. Finally Ron had to put her in the kitchen to fall asleep because she kept watching the movie and it was getting later and later and later...lol

We went shopping on Saturday and I ran into my cousin Pat who lives in Oshawa. Small world! We were in a pretty big mall so it was neat to run into her. After our shopping trip, we went back to Tim & Ry's and packed up to head for home. Natalie slept all the way home and Rachel slept until Woodstock so that was pretty decent. When we got home, Ron's cousin Michael was at our house so we had a good visit with him as well.
Sunday morning was the Bell Walk for Kids walk-a-thon. Thank GOODNESS it wasn't raining since it rained the rest of the weekend. We had a beautiful sunny morning for our walk. It was a little cool and windy but when you're walking 7km you certainly don't want it to be too warm! The girls were in the wagon the whole time and of course Natalie slept 90% of the walk. Rachel just checked everything out.

As we were starting the walk...it starts at the track at the University of Western Ontario.

Natalie was awake after the walk! How nice :)

Rachel played for a little while before we headed up to Clinton to see Ron's brother and family for the afternoon. Luke is just 6 weeks younger than Rachel so it's nice that the cousins are close in age but unfortunately Rachel is a little afraid of Luke right now. He was a bit rough with her (pushing her out of the way) so near the end of the day she was hiding from him. I thought she was just in the corner because she was doing her 'business' but when Luke came over she started shaking her head 'no' and ran away.
So that was our weekend...busy busy and man oh man, we were exhausted last night. I'm pretty sure we'll be in bed early again tonight...we're getting too old for this kind of stuff! lol

Now that we're on the same side of the province as the kids, we haven't driven in or through TO for two and a half years. I like that.
