Natalie's Baptism

It's been a very busy weekend around here but of course it was all worth it in the end. Natalie was baptized today and we couldn't have asked for a better day! We had so many friends & family with us to celebrate; it was simply wonderful.

I realize it's not a 'religious' cake but Rachel's wasn't either. I think it's the message that counts.

Our happy baby girl, wearing the same dress Rachel did back in December 2006. Funny how it was big on Rachel (she was almost 4 months old) and yet it was a little snug on Natalie (almost 3 months). Good thing Natalie was baptized today or else I believe we would have been buying another dress for her to wear.

Funny how she didn't cry while Father Graham was doing this yet she still screams when we give her a bath. Crazy kid!Father Graham, Auntie Linda, Uncle Michael, Natalie, Mommy, Daddy & Rachel. We were so blessed to have Father Graham do Natalie's Baptism. He is the same priest who married us almost 5 years ago and who also baptized Rachel. We love him; he's so awesome!

Natalie was not a happy camper when we got home. I figured it was because of the frilly dress - if I was her, I would have wanted out of it, too. We changed her into another dress (yes, it matches the one that Rachel was wearing) but she was still cranky. As it turned out, she just needed to walk around with Auntie Donna. Yup - she has the magic touch.
All tuckered out - she had a great sleep. Unfortunately she slept through 90% of the party. I was a little sad because we had family from Oshawa, Windsor & Clinton and they didn't get a chance to really see/hold her.
Here are some 'crowd shots'

My Great Aunt Marion with Rachel. Rachel adored her - wanted to be held by her and kept giving her kisses & hugs. I was amazed since Rachel is normally very shy with people she doesn't know that well.
Opening presents. Natalie was spoiled rotten and now Mommy will be busy writing Thank You notes tomorrow :)Oh - look who finally woke up...pretty much after everyone went home. Silly turkey!

All in all, it was a great day and we were so happy to have everyone share in this special day with us. A huge thank you to everyone who came:
"Auntie" Linda (Godmother)
"Uncle" Michael (Godfather) from Toronto
Grandma & Grandad
Oma & Cha Cha from Clinton
Uncle Mark, Aunt Sally & Luke from Clinton
Uncle David & Aunt Andrea from Windsor
"Great Grandma" Betty (Church only)
Rybeca (Church only) from Toronto
John, Ann, Jill & Luke
Donna, Brandon, Jordan & Ethan
Great Great Aunt Marion from Oshawa
Great Uncle Kevin & Great Aunt Gail from Oshawa
Great Uncle Ken, Great Aunt Denise & Bill from Oshawa
Great Aunt Pauline & Henk from Strathroy
On that note, I think it's time for bed.

That was a big and important day for you and your tribe.

It's so weird to see all of those Ontario addresses. I almost take it for granted that bloggers will e American. I'm not sure why because I also know Canadian bloggers and British and Aussie.
