The beloved chainsaw

For those of you who don't know, Ron is a Certified Arborist. In plain English, that means he's a tree guy.

A few years ago, my friend Doreen got Ron a toy chainsaw. He LOVED it, especially because it's a STIHL toy chainsaw and that's the brand that he uses everyday at work. When we were planning the little details for our wedding, I thought it would be awesome to pull the little chainsaw out when we were about to cut our wedding cake. No one else knew about this except our photographer so you can imagine the reaction we got when we did it. We did the traditional pictures of cutting the cake with a fancy knife and then I reached underneath the table and pulled out the toy chainsaw. Everyone went nuts and loved this idea, especially since Ron is a 'tree guy'.


Sorry the picture quality isn't the best. This is one of the pictures that was taken with the disposable cameras that we had placed on the tables for our guests to use. I'm honestly just too darn tired at this moment to go upstairs and scan a different one. You get the idea and that's the important part :)


Of course when Rachel was born, I had to have some fun with the toy chainsaw again. She's only one week old in this picture. The chainsaw is almost as big as she is!

Fast forward to today...I brought the chainsaw out and Rachel was NOT impressed at all. It actually makes noise and the little chain runs around the bar. Right after this picture was taken, I had to move the chainsaw off her chair - she's a funny kid...not big on noises.

And last but not least, here's Natalie with the chainsaw. Something funny about a chainsaw and bunny slippers, don't you think? ;) We're going to submit this picture to the head office where Ron works because every two months they send out a magazine about what's going on with the company and the people who work there, etc. We just received one in the mail today and Natalie's birth announcement was in it (thanks Marnie - what would we do without you???) so we'll send this in and see if they publish it.

And on that note, I think it's time to go watch some trash tv and drink my tea. Both girls are in bed sound asleep...life is wonderful :)
