Bath time

Thank goodness Rachel loves her bath. I mean she is quite content to stay in there for a good period of time. She had cut out her 'evening' nap altogether now so the thought of putting her to bed at 5pm just makes me cringe. Tonight we put her in her jolly jumper for awhile to tire her out. We learned a valuable lesson - when your kid poops while in the jolly jumper, don't let them continue to jump around! ha ha Oh my goodness - what a mess it was! It's a good thing she was having a bath tonight...

Isn't it funny that the tub could be filled with toys and the one thing they want the most is the wash cloth? We don't even put a lot of toys in there anymore - we just have to pick them up afterwards so why bother? ha ha Seriously though, if Rachel played with them, we would put them in there - we aren't that lazy!! Rachel is doing very well at sitting on her own in the tub - it's more of a challenge since she slides around but every time she has a bath, it seems to get better.

On another note, Rachel is a little buggar when it's bed time. We used to be able to just put her in her crib, kiss her goodnight and walk away. Not so much the case anymore. She cries and cries and cries and then does her 'huff & puff' noise. As soon as you walk in the room, she calms down - but if you leave again she freaks out even more. So, I'm back to rocking her to sleep. It literally only takes 5 minutes and I've just come to realize that this stage won't last very long and I should enjoy the snuggles while I can still get them!

So Rachel is asleep for the night...well, until she wakes up around 2 and starts talking. I don't get up or anything - she manages to go back to sleep on her own...thank goodness. Or maybe I should be "knocking on wood"???
