I'm really slacking...

It's been over a week since I posted last? And really - you can't count my last entry as a true post - it was just a quick picture upload.

Things are going VERY well with Rachel. In fact, our little muppet sleeps through the night now. I can't believe it. I thought the first night was just a fluke...then the second night - well, it was just a pleasant surprise. But now - it's a DELIGHT that it's happening every night. One less feeding per day - pretty soon, she'll only be eating 3 time a day. Sad when you think about it because it means she's getting bigger. Anyway, our new schedule is this...Rachel wakes up around 7:15-7:30 but I don't get her out of her crib until 8am. We go downstairs and play for awhile and then I feed her. After that, she hangs out in her swing (she LOVES the swing) and then she has a nap. She feeds again at noon and then we play again and she has another nap. Up at 4 for another feeding and then she hangs out with Daddy for awhile. She usually sneaks in another nap between 6 and her next feeding at 8. After I feed her at 8, we have cuddle time and then we put her to bed at 9. She likes to talk in the middle of the night but she never cries so we just let her be. She is such a happy girl in the morning...

It's great to have a happy baby! That way, when she cries, you know she means business :)

Canadian Baby Photographers came over last week and we placed our order...$499.27 later! I can't believe that some of the packages are $1200! That's just insane! I mean, they are great pictures but let's not go overboard! The pictures should be ready by mid November. I can't wait to get them!

Rachel & I went to Seaforth on Wednesday to see Oma & Cha Cha. Cha Cha was as crazy as ever - oh my goodness he makes me laugh. We had a nice lunch with Oma and then we went to visit Sally & Luke. Luke is getting bigger but he still looks small compared to Rachel. However, Sally was telling me in an email yesterday that Luke is now 8lbs 8oz and 22 inches long. He's a "tall" boy for his age. Rachel was only 21 1/4" at her TWO month appointment! ha ha I weighed Rachel yesterday and I believe she is about 11.5lbs now....and trust me, when you carry her in the carseat, she feels at least that much...if not more :)

It's going to be a nice & relaxing weekend, I hope. Ron is outside right now getting rid of the flowers. Sad to see them go because that definitely means no more warm weather. At the same time though, that means that Christmas is just THAT much closer - 64 days and 9 hours to go!!!!

Speaking of Christmas, I'm doing very well with my Christmas shopping. I'm all done shopping for Andrea & Luke. I still have more shopping to do for my parents, Nellie & Sam, Ron and Rachel but it's nice to have a couple of people done. I just want to put the tree up now and wrap the presents! ha ha Since Ron won't be getting a lot of gifts this year, I've told him that he can unwrap Rachel's gifts. He didn't really like that idea but hey - it's better than nothing at all! :)

I should be cleaning my house right now but I don't feel like it...obviously. Maybe tomorrow I will. Well, I have no choice - I have to clean it tomorrow because Linda & her Mom are coming over on Monday to see Rachel. Linda's Mom has never been here before so all the more reason to clean it up. I am impressed though - it's very tidy - considering all of the baby 'stuff' that is out. Our house has been forever transformed. In our living room, we have the playard and a couple of gifts that still need to be put away (I must remember to do that tomorrow). Then in our family room we have the swing, bouncy chair, stuffed animals, toys in this holder type of thingy - obviously I don't know what to call it), Bumbo, breastfeeding pillow (she likes to hang out in there), and then in our coffee table, we have the bibs, blankets & washcloths). The kitchen has her 'big girl' highchair in addition to the one we got as a gift that sits on a chair (turns into a booster seat down the road and we can take this chair with us if we go visit Grandma/Grandad or Oma/Cha Cha. Upstairs in the computer room we have another bouncy chair and some toys. Oh - and as I look around, I see some more gifts that need to be put away. We are running out of room...I should have realized that when I was writing all of those Thank You notes! :) Anyway, even the spare room upstairs has "Rachel stuff" in it. The closet is full of her clothes, the dresser is full of them as well & there are diapers (3 boxes) in the closet as well. Oh - her toy box is in the spare room as well because we needed to move it out of her room when we put the heater in there. Just wanted to be safe and keep the heater free from anything. And let tell you - that heater is awesome! It appears that Rachel's room is the coolest one in the house - and I'm not talking about the decorating! ha ha We didn't want Rachel to be cold and even though we have the furnace on already, we thought we would buy a heater for there. We had one like this up at the cottage for Thanksgiving and it worked like a charm so that's the kind we bought for Rachel's room. It sure does the trick!

I think I've done enough rambling...I should go check on Ron & Rachel to see how they're doing. I haven't heard a peep out of Rachel so she's probably still sleeping...maybe I'll join her :)
